The team brought home 15 medals and cemented Bowral Little Athletics Centre’s reputation as a club on the rise.
Multiple medallists Ruby Blake, Matthew Elliott and Ava Jones led the way for the 32-strong Bowral team, winning seven medals between them. Bowral athletes secured 20 top-five finishes across a range of track, jumps, throws and walks events.
Competitors from 25 clubs battled it out at the Kerryn McCann Athletics Centre, with athletes from as far afield as Griffith and Deniliquin making the trip for the event.
Multiple medallists Ruby Blake, Matthew Elliott and Ava Jones led the way for the 32-strong Bowral team, winning seven medals between them. In addition to the club’s three gold, six silver and six bronze medals, Bowral athletes secured 20 top-five finishes across a range of track, jumps, throws and walks events.
Six Bowral athletes have now qualified automatically for state championships in Sydney in late March, up from four last season.
They may be joined by a further four athletes, who are sweating on results from other regional carnivals across the state to see if they will join their team-mates on the start line as non-automatic qualifiers.

Ruby Blake U9 – 1st 400m, 2nd 60m Hurdles, 2nd 100m
Matthew Elliott U17 – 1st Javelin, 2nd Shotput
Ava Jones U15 – 2nd High Jump, 3rd Triple Jump
Scarlett Sears U10 – 1st High Jump
Maya Bos-Woods U14 – 2nd High Jump
Benji Lee-Billinghurst U10 – 2nd 400m
Ciara Longworth U17 – 3rd 400m
Jasmine Shakeshaft U14 – 3rd 3000m
Matthew Arregui U10 – 3rd 70m, 3rd 200m
Charlotte Withers U9 – 3rd Long Jump
Club nights continue for Bowral Little Athletics Club on Friday afternoons at Eridge Park from 5pm for Tiny Tots and from 5.30pm for under 8s and over until late March.
