NSW Ambulance responded to calls that a car had flipped multiple times heading south on the Hume Highway just after 12pm Friday, January 19.
The 43-year-old male driver removed himself from the car and had minor arm injuries with bleeding to his upper left shoulder.
The 38-year-old female passenger was initially trapped in the vehicle but was extracted by emergency service crews.
The spokesperson said despite her injuries, she was stable.
“She had knee pain and back pain but was stable, she was conscious and breathing.”
Both the driver and passenger were transported to Liverpool Hospital by ambulance.
Police, NSW Ambulance, Rural Fire Service and SES were all on scene.
The spokesperson said the vehicle was majorly damaged, however “there was no fluid leaking or smoke coming from the vehicle.”
The broken down truck has been moved out of the way, so all southbound lanes are now open. Heavy traffic remains.
