Sutton Forest tourist facility
A proposed tourist development at Sutton Forest will be debated at the December 13 meeting. The proposed $19 million project for Oldbury Road at Sutton Forest would include tourist and visitor accommodation and a function centre. It is recommended councillors give in principle support subject to RMS concurrence. It is similar to a development application (DA) that was lodged with council in November 2016.

Renwick subdivision
A decision will be made on the latest subdivision at Renwick. A proposed 20 lot subdivision was debated at the November 22 meeting. Traffic, flooding and the wildlife corridor were issues raised by objectors. The matter was deferred and the DA has been recommended for approval subject to conditions.
Council chamber relocation
Councillor Garry Turland will seek support to look at moving council chambers to the theatrette while the civic centre renovations take place and the current chambers be used for council staff.
Economic committee chair
A decision is expected to be made about the future of Ian Scandrett as head of the economic development and tourism committee chair. A motion by councillor Garry Turland asking him to stand down as chair of the committee was deferred at the October 25 meeting.
Developer charges
Councillors will make a decision on water supply and sewerage developer charges at the December 13 meeting. Staff have recommended council continue to apply the new Development Servicing Plans rates for water and sewerage adopted earlier (effective September 15) this year to all consents including those approved prior to September 15.
