►A small martial arts gym has proven it can hold its own against the larger gyms.
Three mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters from Highlands Martial Arts had podium finishes at the Grappling Industries competition.
The event was held at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence in Redfern on December 3.
►Theft from retail store and indecent assault is on the decrease in the Wingecarribee.
There were fewer major crimes committed in the Wingecarribee the year leading up to September, than the year prior to that according to a NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research report released on Thursday.
The most significant declines were recorded in the break and enter (dwellings), indecent assault and retail store theft.
►Speeding and fatigue have proved to be the biggest killers on the Hume Highway over the past 10 years.
From the Hume Highway at Camden Valley Way overpass, Casula to the Wargeila Road overpass, Yass there have been 57 fatalities in the past 10 years.
More than 17 per cent of the drivers involved in the 49 fatal crashes on the 249km stretch of road were under the age of 26.
►A group of 20 “strong and fearless” aerial gymnasts, who have spent most of the year working up to their final performance, are set to grace the stage this weekend.
The Moss Vale Aerial Silks end-of-year showcase is themed ‘African animals’.
►Tired yet fulfilled, 22 potters from Sturt’s ceramics school are showcasing their end-of-year collections at the Bowral Art Gallery.
Most of the students have spent the better part of the year perfecting their pieces, which range from wheel-thrown to hand-built, utilitarian items to ornamental pieces and feature a diversity of styles, techniques and influences.
►Minor construction works are scheduled to commence at Bundanoon Reservoir and Ellsmore Road, Bundanoon from Monday, December 11.
Works will involve the construction of interconnecting pipe works and the supply and installation of valves at Bundanoon Reservoir and Ellsmore Road. More here.
