The Janet Seidel Choice Band will perform at The Mill on Sunday.
The concert will feature local saxophonists/clarinettist Ben Jones, legendary jazz guitarist Chuck Morgan, along with Janet’s brother and Bass player David Seidel.
The Mill played host to Janet’s final public appearance in July this year and will again relive this immortal sound with special guest artists from across Australia including direct from New York the legendary piano virtuoso Alberto Pibiri who had planned to record with Janet during his visit.
Janet lost her battle with cancer in August this year and all proceeds will go to the Rare Cancers Australia (RCA)
RCA head of patient care Kate Vines said it would be a great event.
“It is wonderful that these fantastic artists and musicians will come together to remember the great Janet Seidel, and in her memory, support Rare Cancers Australia’s mission to improve the lives of people living with rare and less common cancers.”
There will also be a silent auction on the day of some memorabilia featuring a hand painted portraits of Janet and her fellow artists.
The water colour portraits were painted by Australian artist Adrian Bartlet and were part of a series of Famous Australian Jazz Musicians painted during a Fish Records Jazz concert staged in 2003.
Tickets will cost $25. Call 4870 1293 to book with only a limited number of tickets available at the door.
The concert will be held from 4pm on Sunday, December 10.
