Moss Vale High School student Mitchell Whalan has been chosen to go on the Outward Bound Navigation Course in the Australian Alps in the 2018 Easter Holidays.
He will join a group of 14 other students from across Australia.
They will have a 10 day trek through mountainous country involving long challenging walks and climbing sessions
Mitchell will be required to carry all his food, drink and gear and will learn aspects of self-development including self confidence, leadership development initiative and motivation, as well as bush skills.
He Mitchell, said he was looking forward to the challenge and excited at the prospect of going on an Outward Bound Course.
His involvement has been sponsored by the Bowral Lions Club and by ClubGRANTS.
“I am very grateful that I have been given the opportunity to go on this program courtesy of the Lions Club. It will be an experience that will provide me with new skills and knowledge that will help me in the future."
