At the annual general meeting Brian Ellem retired as president after fourty years in the position, and his wife Colleen retired as treasurer.
Brian Ellem said he had many fond memories of the club.
“There’s been so many highlights,” he said.
“To be there for so many years and continue the sport. I did win some of the club championships.”
The couple has bought a motor home and has planned a trip around Australia, revisiting some of their favourite places.
The couple still intends to play table tennis several times a week, and play tournaments in and out of the area.
The Ellem family has been associated with the club since 1972 and has held a number of club championships. The new executive and president is Wayne Peppen, the new secretary is Marie Clarke and the new treasurer is Christian Smaller.
