Michael Flynn and Russell Fahey defeated Carl Spilker and Robin Staples 23-22.
Spilker and Staples had a six shot advantage going into the match.
After six ends the scores locked at 10-10.
Confident play by Spilker and Staples had them in front 17-13 at the half way mark.
From then on the game was in the balance on the last end and the scores were even 22-22.
An extra end was played and the experience off former NSW player Russell Fahey was invaluable on this end, as Flynn and Fahey moved into the next round winning by one shot.
Graham Hunt and Gordon Lewis defeated Neil Lewis and Brian Carlile 18-17.
Hunt and Lewis went into the match with a four shot advantage.
After seven ends Lewis and Carlile took an 11-5 lead and with one end to play the scores level 17-17.
On the last end Hunt and Lewis scored one shot to advance to the semi-final.
Eric Willacy and Don Coleman defeated Colin Stone and Noel Fraser 27-25.
Stone and Fraser started with a five shot advantage.
Willacy and Coleman raced to a two shot win on the last end.
Keith Edwards and Dougal Braithwaite defeated Ian Crow and Greg Taylor 22-16.
Crow and Taylor started with a four shot advantage but Edwards and Braithwaite were able to nail down the match to come out six shot winners.
