This car was confiscated as a result of the driver being caught twice for hoon-type behaviour in a short time.
As part of Operation Chrome, I am pushing staff to target poor driver behaviour, such as speeding, reckless driving and driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Repeat offenders can lose their vehicles. If you drive without concern for others, it could happen to you.
I WANT to congratulate Gary Worboys of Goulburn on his appointment recently as Deputy Commissioner Regional Field Operations.
He was previously Commander of the Southern Region.
His role is a new one, and is part of the latest restructure to the NSW force under Commissioner Mick Fuller.
The force will have a stronger focus on country policing with this new role.
Mr Worboys will be based in Dubbo and he will be responsible for targeting frontline officers and resources to the towns where they are most needed.
I know he has a deep understanding of needs of country policing, and will be a strong advocate not just for the Hume LAC, but for regional policing throughout the state.
RECENTLY we introduced compliance checks for Apprehended Violence Orders in relation to domestic violence, meaning that local police officers will ensure that the orders are followed.
It’s one more way we can clamp down on those involved in domestic violence, and make sure the orders are strictly adhered to.
I’ve told my staff that if they identify any breaches, suspects will be locked up and bailed refused. We have zero tolerance when it comes to violence in the home.
If we identify a repeat offender, that means they get highlighted even further – there’ll be a spotlight on them, with every move watched carefully. They won’t be able to do anything without the force of the law coming down on them.
