Events include a free seniors cycling workshop presented by Rideability Cycle Education.
Council’s road safety officer Melanie Lausz said the workshop was perfect for seniors looking to brush up on their cycling skills.
“The workshop will focus on rider safety, skills, confidence and the benefits of cycling,” she said.
“We’ll answer any questions participants may have and touch on current cycling laws and bike maintenance tips.”
The one-hour Rideability Workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 8 from 10.30am at Lake Alexandra in Mittagong. Morning tea will be provided after the workshop.
Participants should be able to ride a bicycle without training aids and are asked to bring their own bike in good working condition along with a correctly fitted bicycle helmet.
A limited number of bikes and helmets can be provided for those who don’t have their own.
“Autumn is the perfect season to rediscover the joys of bicycle riding,” Ms Lausz said. “And with stunning Highlands scenery at our doorstop there isn’t a better time to get on your bike.”
Bookings are essential as places are limited.
