Jim and Chris Ewart were some of the first Highlanders to put their Christmas lights and decorations up in 2016.
The couple has wowed Highlands residents with their festive season displays for the past 28 years.
And this year was no exception.
From a giant inflatable Santa, to a nativity scene and plenty of lights, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
This year they have added music to the display with Christmas songs playing in the background.
They have been spreading some Christmas cheer for the past 48 years, ever since they have been married.
“We just love everything about it. Then our kids came along and they liked it so we just kept going,” Chris said.
“We just like doing it.”
Chris said the Santa in the sleigh at the front of their yard was the oldest decoration they had.
For the Ewarts, Christmas is all about spending time with family.
Chris is Polish and said they celebrated Christmas Eve with Polish traditions before spending Christmas Day with Jim’s family.
They open presents on Christmas and Eve and then on Christmas Day, the children receive their presents from Santa Claus.
“I still believe in Santy Claus,” Jim said.
She said their grandchildren loved to see the lights and decorations each year.
Not only does the outside of their house bring Christmas to life, there’s also plenty to look at and enjoy inside including an amazingly decorated Christmas tree and two dancing Santas.
“And so does the little boy next door. That’s very important,” Jim said.
The Ewart’s Christmas decorations have received plenty of attention over the years.
Their efforts have earned them accolades in previous Christmas light competitions run in the region.
