A group of young gymnasts from the Southern Highlands PCYC took home a number of top accolades at the PCYC Gymnastics State Championships in Dubbo.
The girls competed against roughly 10 other PCYC clubs from across the state.
The Southern Highlands competitors took home a number of wins in the level three competition.
Kalina Tyler placed first on the bars in her first ever gymnastics competition. April Whyte and Freyja Parker placed first overall in their age groups.
Megan Johnson placed second overall in her age group and Ruby Wadling placed third overall in her age group.
There was no shortage of wins in the level four competition, with a number of local girls coming in at top spot.
Bailee May tied for first place on the vault, Elizabeth Chapman and Emma Johnson placed second overall in their age groups and Ashleigh Williams placed third overall in her age group.
Taylor Keane won first place in her age group and also took the level four State Champion title.
In the level six competition Lily Parker placed first on the vault and Chantelle Parker placed third.
These were outstanding results for the girls, who had never competed in a level six competition before.
The young gymnasts represented the Highlands well and finished the competition with a number of podium finishes.
PCYC Southern Highlands senior activity officer Alese Keane, said it was a very successful competition for the PCYC Southern Highlands Gymnastics club.
“The girls walked away with podium finishes in all events and took out first place in age categories as well as one overall PCYC state champion. This shows how much hard work and effort they put into the sport they love.”
