Marulan finished the ordinary season at the top of the ladder while Yerrinbool finished in third spot.
Throughout the course of the season Yerrinbool were unable to win against the team. They lost twice and drew twice with Marulan.
But Yerrinbool were finally able to win against the rival team in the most important game of the season. At the final whistle the grand final score was 4-0.
Yerrinbool player Ben Lynch said it was a big win for the team.
“It was a tough game out there, it was very physical and we eventually got the goals that we needed and we just held on,” he said.
Lynch said it was the team’s seventh grand final in a row.
“Everyone writes us off at the start of the season, but somehow we always get through. Marulan had the wood over us all year with two wins and two draws. We wanted the win and we finally got it,” he said.
