One of Ron McIntosh’s hobbies is researching war memorials, and when the Colo Vale memorial was completed, it sparked a new project.
Mr McIntosh decided to immortalise the names on the memorial on the national Register of War Memorials.
“I feel that I’ve become a member of the Colo Vale Community after reading all the individual War Service records at the National Archives and the Australian War Memorial, and feel very honoured to be a small part of the history behind the area,” he said.
“There are many stories that can be told about the veterans listed and I hope I’ve achieved some history behind some of their names.”
Mr McIntosh is currently working on three more memorials to add to the list.
