Owner Patrick Glanville said the call for the Australian Champion Business Award nomination came out of nowhere.
"After winning Local Salon of the Year and businessman of the year, I was asked to nominate United Culture for this award," he said.
"It's pretty cool, as I'm up against my old boss who I did my apprenticeship with 17 years ago, and he won last year."
The salon re-branded and re-opened last October, to give a new unique salon experience.
"We're trying to do something different, with hair as the main focus," Mr Glanville said.
"We're not a 'quick-snip' salon, we have the men's section, private room, commercial coffee machine, cookies, all provided with beautiful service.
"I wanted to offer a unique experience that's a little different, not just for people in the Southern Highlands, but across New South Wales."
The salon is located above Sportspower on High Street.
