The BDSA committee recognises the best junior and senior athletes in the Highlands each month over a 12-month period.
Last year's BDSA senior winner was Tirian McManus and the junior champion was Lauren Cheatle.
Cheatle continued her fine run by winning the January junior award.
The cricketer was recognised for her selection in the Commonwealth Bank Australian Shooting Stars squad .
The BDSA senior winner for January was hockey umpire Todd Gilroy.
Gilroy was selected as the NSW referee for the National Boys under-18s Indoor Hockey Competition.
He was ranked first out of seven referees to adjudicate the gold medal match.
But Gilroy had to referee the bronze medal match due to NSW playing in the gold match.
In late January, Gilroy was named NSW junior umpire of the year for 2014.
The BDSA junior award winner for February was cricketer Dominic O'Shannesy.
O'Shannessy attended the Combined Independent Schools (CIS) 2014 sports awards and received a CIS medallion for competing at state level.
O'Shannessy also won the DA Wilburd Trophy for outstanding achievement.
This award goes to the best performer across all primary sports combined.
The senior February winner was athletics talent Norma Wallett.
In the 20th Bowral Parkrun event, Wallett completed her seventh personal best time from 16 events.
Wallett ran 5km in a time of 33 minutes and 43 seconds, taking a full minute off her previous time.
She also set a record time in the women's 85-89 age group.
