BOWRAL cyclists Caleb Ewan and Tirian McManus have been trumped at the NSW Institute of Sports (NSWIS) Awards.
Ewan and McManus were nominees in the Office of Communities, Sport and Recreation Regional Athlete of the Year category at the annual awards presentation in Randwick on Thursday night.
The gong was won by wheelchair rugby star Ryley Bhatt who, along with slalom canoeist Jessica Fox, dominated the night.
Bhatt also won the ClubsNSW Male Athlete of the Year and Quest Serviced Apartments Team Athlete of the Year honours.
Fox was named Sydney City Toyota Female Athlete of the Year for the second successive time.
