NSW Small Business Commissioner, Robyn Hobbs was on hand at the breakfast session hosted by Moss Vale Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber president, Bob Selden said that the packs are aimed at helping small businesses get off to a good start and keep the momentum going.
"We were motivated by the fact that so many businesses fail through lack of good planning," he said.
"Contrary to popular belief, the majority of businesses do not fail in their first year, but rather in their second and subsequent years.
"In fact the figures rise from less than 10 per cent in the first year to 32 per cent thereafter and the number one reason for such failures, is lack of a good plan to guide their success," Mr Selden said.
Ms Hobbs suggested that the New Business Pack was one of the best tools she had seen to help business people who otherwise may not be so motivated to undertake planning.
"The thing I like most about the pack, is its simplicity," she said.
"It really does make it very easy for someone starting a business to do the things they need to do to be successful.
"It also has a wealth of contacts and support services, such as my office that people can call on in need and I'll certainly be telling the Moss Vale story wherever I go in my new role."
