The countdown has begun until the Berrima District Rotary Club's fifth annual cabaret held on Saturday, May 24.
This year's theme is "Rock Around The Clock" and the club has introduced its mascots - Peggy Sue and Buddy.
The two clocks, dressed in stereotypical 1950s attire, have been busy visiting some of the region's most iconic locations.
Named after 50s identities Peggy Sue and Buddy Holly, cabaret committee chairwoman Shelly Boyce said the mascots matched this year's theme.
"It's a fun thing that we're doing with the community," she said.
The previous four cabarets raised more than $200,000, with the money distributed to local groups and initiatives.
All funds generated will be given to community groups within the Highlands.
The cabaret format will include dinner and music before participants will be invited to dance.
Entertainment will be provided by 1950s rock'n'roll band The Firebyrds, while Ms Boyce said other secret acts would perform.
Rock Around the Clock will be held at the Mittagong RSL from 6.30pm and tickets cost $85 each.
Phone BDCU on 4860 4000 or Mittagong RSL on 4872 6700 for bookings.
In the lead-up, the Southern Highland News and Berrima District Rotary Club will run a competition for readers. Keep an eye out for photos of Peggy Sue and Buddy in upcoming Friday editions of the Southern Highland News.
If you can identify the five locations the mascots are visiting, you will go into the draw for the major prize of two tickets to the cabaret, valued at $170. Contact Josh Bartlett on 4861 2333 or email your answer to josh.bartlett@fairfaxmedia.com.au
