After four ends, Bailey and Payne had a 8-1 lead, and at that early stage the match looked to be a serious risk of a high scoring win for Bailey and Payne.
Then Wall and Reynolds decided to settle down and scored seven shots on the next three ends to have the scores level 8-8. This was a wake up for Bailey and Payne.
Isn’t bowls a strange game! Bailey and Payne then started to play the way they started and got into the game with gusto, and ripped the game apart, going to a 23-14 lead with three ends to play.
This should have been game over, but Wall and Reynolds just got into another gear to score nine shots on the last three ends to force a draw. Imagine the look on the faces of Bailey and Payne!
A great match and high standard play from all four players.
