The Mittagong Lions and Westpac have developed a new partnership to help improve young athletes' knowledge of financial education and sponsorship funding to help grow the club’s access to resources.
"Banks can sometimes feel daunting for the younger generation, so by developing this partnership it enables us to be able to reach out and provide education around the different aspects of banking from a young age, which can sometimes be the difference in their financial future," Westpac bank manager of Bowral Jane Peeck said.
It's uncharted waters but very exciting times.

"It's about building a relationship so they are comfortable to ask questions.
"We also love what the Lions do with their players, so it's not just about rugby league it's also about a community and making sure their players are comfortable in their lives outside of playing the game.
"The players attend different seminars on relevant social and health topics throughout their season and financial education is the next piece.”
Secretary and reserve grade coach, Billy Hayward said the extra funding would go a long way.
"Last year we started with the Pathway Squad from 16-18s. Now with this extra funding, it will help with our resources which is important to this club," Mr Hayward said.
"We started as a small country club but now we're turning semi-professional.
"The reason we're turning semi-professional is due to the commitment of the players and the coaching staff. To keep it at this level does come at a cost. It will also set an example for the junior system.
"These pathways and foundations will be set for them as they advance through age groups.
"We're very excited and we have a lot of planning to do with Westpac, it's uncharted waters but very exciting times."
