In fact a total $3360 will be added to the Can Assist coffers to help Highlands cancer patients and their families.
The funds were raised in what has become a much-awaited annual event, a movie night, run by the the Can Assist committee.
This year’s screening offered some light relief with the comical carry on of Rowan Atkinsson. He was joined by an impressive cast including Olga Kurylenko and Emma Thompson in the screening of Johnny English Strikes Again.
More than 140 people showed their support for this year's fundraiser buying raffles tickets and settling in to a great night out at the movies.
All fund raised through the event are used to directly support people living with cancer in the Highlands.
Can Assist scretary Terry Hughes said the charity was currently providing support for an average of 70 people a month.
He added that Can Assist regularly received new referrals for those who needed assistance.
“We had 104 new patient referrals in the financial year just ended," he said.
"This was just one less than those new referrals received in the preceding financial year.
“Sadly we are certain to continue to have more referrals and we have already received 17 new referrals in this young financial year."
Mr Hughes said that each month Can Assist provided financial assistance totalling about $5700.
"This includes, for example, more than $4500 in respect of patients’ pharmacy accounts alone," he said.
He said generous donations and support for events such as the movie night helped people in their time of stress, uncertainty and need.
