The man extradited from Queensland over an alleged business fraud related to loans and investment companies in the Southern Highlands has faced court and been refused bail.

On March 28 a NSW Police spokesperson said the man was charged with three counts of publish false misleading material to obtain advantage, three counts of officer publish false misleading statement to deceive, dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception, and knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime.
He was refused bail at Waverley Local Court on Thursday and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Friday, March 29.
Detectives attached to The Hume Police District initiated an investigation into the alleged multi-million-dollar fraud in the Highlands between 2013 and 2023.
Following "extensive investigations" detectives were granted an arrest warrant for a 55-year-old man on March 13.
"Queensland police detectives attended a home in Wynnum at about 8.20am on Tuesday, March 26, and the man was arrested by virtue of the warrant on the behalf of NSW Police," a police spokesperson said.
The man appeared in Cleveland Magistrates Court on March 27, where an application was granted for the Hume Police District detectives to extradite him to NSW.
He arrived in Sydney on March 28 at about 1pm, and was taken by The Hume PD detectives to Waverley Police Station.
"Police will allege in court the man was the director of a finance company that offered loans to small to medium businesses in exchange for purchasing their invoices for work that had been completed," the spokesperson said.
