This was a round robin format with all three teams playing against one another.
I found it somewhat disconcerting that I was not able to get the score cards for this match.
Only to say that Bundanoon was very dominant on the day taking out the trophy.
Probably this was because Bowral have always been the winners over the last few years, it is understood that after some keen bowls.
- Bundanoon 1st place
- Bowral 2nd place
- Robertson 3rd place
With pennants only a month away there can be no slacking off from any of the three local teams in the next few weeks.
Just before the Christmas break Bowral held a internal pennant trial the results as follows:
- C. Connor, Rick Reynolds, Tony Oakes and Clive Neutze defeated Richard Denman, Terry Norwood, Gordon Lewis and Bill Meredith 25-14.
- Noel Fraser, Jim Neely, Dave Riddell and Dave Coltman defeated Paul McInerney, Rita South, Brian Porter and Bob Edwards 27-10.
- Carl Spilker, Glen Phillips, Stephen Della and Josh Woodcock defeated Robin Staples, Dennis Beatty, Dougald Braithwaite and Paul Leverett 17-14.
- Alex Lamb, Brian Payne and Glen Giese had a 18-18 draw with Lyn Boshier, Kevin Jones and Peter Cornwell.
The selectors have stated that opportunity knocks for players to play pennants for Bowral this coming season as some of the stalwarts of the club who have given great service over the years are standing down from playing pennants.
Pennant trial this Saturday, January 16 2021.
A pennant trial for Bowral grade 2 side has been set down for this coming Saturday, January 16, Bowral will travel to Huskisson play to commence at 12-30pm.
A bus will be departing Bowral bowling club at 10am.
The trip should take 1.5 hours bus ride with cost $30 per person.
The three sides to represent Bowral are as follows:
- Stephen Della, Kevin Stafford, Chris Barritt-Eyles and Mick Armstrong.
- Ashley Lewis, Nathan Boyers, Dougald Braithwaite and Mick Spong.
- Carl Spilker, Glynn Phillips, Paul Leverett and Josh Woodcock.
If Bowral is to be dominant in pennants this season, this match should be a good work out and a good guide for selectors.
