A-League expansion club, Macarthur FC has welcomed Highlands Soccer Association to the clubs growing community engagement program with the association agreeing to support the club as a local association partner.
The agreement between Macarthur FC and Highlands SA (Soccer Association), sees them join existing associations Bankstown Amateur Football Association, Southern Districts Football Association, Macarthur Football Association and Southern Tablelands Football Association.
The partnership between the five associations and Macarthur FC now sees the A-League newcomers cover territory from Bankstown, through Liverpool and Campbelltown, into the Wollondilly and down to Goulburn.
Macarthur FC's community engagement program now encompasses over 120 clubs, while supporting almost 40,000 players and officials.
These figures, set to rise in coming years, will see the club situated in the fastest growth corridor in Australia.
Macarthur FC Chairman, Gino Marra welcomed the partnership with Highlands SA.
"A core value of the club from the very beginning has been to engage with, and grow participant numbers, especially female registrations in our region," Marra said.
"This partnership with Highlands Soccer Association allows us to continue to develop and roll out programs and pathways for grassroots clubs from Bargo to Marulan.
"These programs will provide pathway opportunities from grassroots to professional football, not only for players but coaches and officials also."
Danny Josipovic, Chairman of Highlands Soccer Association was thrilled with the partnership.
"I believe the partnership with Macarthur FC will provide greater opportunities for player talent identification, and elite football development programs, not only for players but also coaches right across the Highlands," Josipovic said.
"The importance of growing and developing female football further should not be understated and this partnership will enhance that.
"Highlands Soccer Association looks forward to working collaboratively with Macarthur FC to develop specific programs to benefit both organisations."
Macarthur FC join the national A-League competition in the 2020/21 season, playing at Campbelltown Stadium.
