Chairman of selectors Ashley Lewis announced that, unless there is a dramatically increase by members to put there name down for pennants, Bowral will withdraw one team from this year’s pennants.
At the moment, Bowral have nominated three grades: grade 2, grade 6 and grade 7.
Bowral top grade, who have been promoted to grade 2 after winning the district and zone last year and reaching the last 16 of the state finals, will be developing a new squad in this grade.
They have lost eight players from last year and are expected to struggle this year.
That leaves grade 6 and grade 7.
To try and provide competitive teams, Bowral needs a squad of 40 players.
Lewis specifically stated that with the loss of players this could be a hard year of pennants for the coming season.
More players need to be available to field three grades.
Pennants is a 10 week competition and enjoyable playing against other clubs.

Peter Watson, Rick Reynolds, Owen Williams and Peter Morales defeated Kevin Jones, Richard Denman, Don Coleman and Mick Flynn 20-15.
By the half way mark, team Morales had a 13-10 lead before team Flynn started mounting a challenge, but just could not get level, with team Morales coming away with a five shot win.
Brian Payne, Graham Hunt, Bill Meredith and Robin Staples defeated Glen Giese, Carl Spilker, Bob Edwards and Gordon Lewis 24-23.
After 10 ends the scores were locked at 11-11 with neither teams taking a risk with on shots.
There was plenty of action in the second half of the match, and with good guidance from skipper Staples he was able to get his team over the line by one shot.
Joel Hunt, Paul Rubie and John Cummins defeated Keith Edwards, Barry Werfel and Bill Pope 22-19.
Team Pope had a 14-11 lead after 11 ends before a change came over the match, and team Cummins got quickly into stride and came away three shot winners.
Denman and Williams raise their game in top display

Richard Denman and Owen Williams defeated Colin Stone and Don Coleman 16-11.
This match always looked like developing into a top one, and it was pleasing to see the Denman and Williams combination discovery of form.
They went to a early lead 6-1 after five ends, before Stone and Coleman found some form and after 14 ends only trailed by two shots 11-9.
The type of bowls played in the remaining ends was very tight and of high quality.
But at the finish Denman and Williams were able to come away with a five shot win.
Other results:
Joe O’Donnell and Bob Edwards defeated Barry Werfel and Robin Staples 16-10.
John Fleming, Neville Tanner and Bill Pope defeated Bruce Hall, Paul Rubie and John Cummins 22-10.
