Bowral Bowling Club, Wednesday, January 16
With the summer sun shining and temperatures at 36 degrees, some bowlers were wishing for a white Christmas to cool things down.
Match reports
Peter Watson, Dan Ticehurst and Bob Edwards defeated Barry Werfel, Mick Flynn and Peter Morales 20-19.
Early in the match, team Edwards had a 7-3 lead after seven ends.
It was expected that team Morales would get back into the match and this they did with some good team bowls.
With temperatures rising it appeared to spur team Morales on, and after 14 ends they had a 16-8 lead, prompting team Edwards to focus, and on the 18th end had regained the lead 17-16.
The last three ends from both teams had some brilliant bowls.
On the last end, team Edwards scored two shots to claim victory by one shot.
Although this was disappointment for team Morales, both teams were able to deliver a top game of bowls.
Robin Staples and Clive Neutze defeated Harold Wall and Gordon Lewis 23-17.
Under the hot conditions this was another entertaining match, with Staples and Neutze coming from behind to win by six shots.
