And the opportunity to do this will become easy when the Seniors’ Festival kicks off on the February 13.
However, they need to start planning and booking from January 21 to make sure they don’t miss out on the many great activities on offer.
Wingecarribee Shire Council’s ageing and disability officer, Nicola Robson is confident that there will be something for everyone during this year’s festival but urged people book online ahead of time.
Ms Robson said more than 30 events were planned and there was the option to book online as well as over the phone.
“Some of the excursions such as our Mystery Bus tours are extremely popular,” she said
“We know more and more older people are confident computer users and this [computer bookings] will allow them to browse events at their leisure and at a time that is convenient for them.
“However, we’re still more than happy to take bookings in person or over the phone.”
The theme for the 2019 is ‘Love your Life”, which aims to promote inclusive communities, making new friends and to remain active and engaged.
“With so many activities available we really want our shire’s seniors to get out and try some new things,” she said.
The festival will be held from February 13-24 with varying start times and locations for activities.
