Former Mittagong Lion and current Parramatta Eels player Daniel Alvaro brightened the day of some sick children recently.

Alvaro and his Eels teammates recently went to Westmead Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House to visit children going through treatment.
“It’s something we do every year. I know all the boys look forward to going there,” he said.
“It really put everything into perspective when you’re there and you see these poor little kids going through a difficult time, it makes you feel pretty small.
“It’s good to get in there and put a few smiles on their faces and hopefully brighten up their day. We all enjoy going out there.
Next season isn’t in Alvaro’s mind at the moment, it’s all about having a solid pre-season.
“We’re just trying to have a good pre-season for now,” he said.
“Hopefully on the back of that, we can have a good start to the year and win some games.
“We’ll take it one week at a time and hopefully have a good year.”
Alvaro said he looked forward to opening up the new Bankwest Stadium on Easter Monday next year.
“It’s a bit surreal actually. Me and the rest of the boys are really looking forward to getting into Bankwest Stadium and playing,” he said.
“We had a tour of the stadium last month and it looks unreal.
“The atmosphere will be unique and a really good game day experience.”
