The day included a commemoration ceremony, performances from the Highlands Pipes and Drums, the RSL Youth Choir and the School Cadet Unit, as well as several Sydney Trains exhibitions. Sydney Trains CEO Howard Collins made an appearance, as well as Justice Margaret Beazley and the two original “Blue Gum Girls” who helped feed the troops at Moss Vale Station during World War I.
Moss Vale train station duty manager Kevin Andrews received an award for 50 years of service at the station during the ceremony.
“It’s been fantastic to work here,” Mr Andrews said. “The staff are fantastic. Nothing is too much for them.”
