Now in its fifth year, the ‘Trucks Across the Highlands’ convoy raises funds for the BDCU Children’s Foundation. More than 90 heavy vehicles have registered to participate in the event this year, and organisers are hoping it will reach 100.
Organiser Rodney South said the main aim of the event, which has raised more than $60,000 over the past four years, was to be “totally local”.
The trucks will depart from Bunnings Braemar at 9am on Saturday and are expected to finish at Moss Vale Showground at 11am, where a carnival will be set up.
There will be rides, face painting, miniature railway rides, displays of historic cars and motorcycles, live country music and food stalls.
