This week marks 90 years of commitment from the Moss Vale branch and members joined together for a celebration on September 4.
Founded in 1927, the auxiliary has spent the past 90 years raising funds to buy additional equipment for the hospital.
President Sandra D'Adam has been a member since 1996 and has been president since 2004.
“To have been involved for 21 years has been very rewarding and it’s really good to see how much we have helped the community,” she said.
The auxiliary holds several events every year to raise money for the hospital and each year raises an average of $15,000.
“The hospital gives us a wish list and we raise money to fund new equipment and services,” Mrs D’Adam said.
She said her favourite project of the auxiliary is one of its most recent.
“We’ve started Paws Pet Therapy at the Milton Park Ward [at the hospital] and that has been very special.”
Bowral and District Hospital general manager Valerie Jovanovic said the hospital wouldn’t be the same without the work of the Moss Vale auxiliary.
“We couldn’t do it without them,” she said.
“In health we couldn't survive without the auxiliary and the work of the dedicated volunteers.”

Ms Jovanovic said she hoped the work of the auxiliary would continue in the future.
“We want to see new members involved because the auxiliary’s ongoing support is necessary.”
Councillor Peter Nelson also celebrated the birthday with the auxiliary members.
“This is an amazing milestone and they should be very proud of the work they have done for the community,” he said.
The work of one long-serving auxiliary member was recognised at the celebration.
Jenny Sheerman has been a member of the Moss Vale auxiliary for 21 years and was awarded a life membership.
Mrs Sheerman was secretary from 2001 to 2007 and has been assistant secretary for the past 10 years.
She was described as “a tireless member who single-handedly” organised several events over the years.
Moss Vale Hospital Auxiliary is keen to welcome new members.
Meetings and functions are held once a month.
