Glam Fragrance and Beauty is the first in the world to have a M.A.C contract outside of a department or boutique store.
Owner, Nicole Kamminga said it was an exciting time for the store.
“We’ve gotten bigger over the years and I think that, combined with our persistence got us there,” she said.
Glam staff have undergone training with the products and it is set to become one of the favourites in store.
“The girls have to train in everything and they trained across all brands,” Ms Kamminga said.
“They are very excited to have M.A.C in the store.”
Ms Kamminga also said it was great to have such a popular brand in the Highlands.
“It’s great to keep the business local and the public are very excited about it,” she said.
“People will only have to go as far as Bowral for the makeup now."
Make-Up Art Cosmetics or M.A.C as it is now known, started its life in Toronto, Canada.
Makeup artist and photographer Frank Toskan and salon owner Frank Angelo became frustrated by the lack of makeup that photographed well, so they decided to create their own.
At first, they made the cosmetics in their kitchen and sold them straight from the salon to fellow makeup artists, as well as models and photographers.
Soon, stylists and fashion editors got in on the action.
As the magazine credits racked up and word-of-mouth popularity grew, the duo launched M·A·C in March 1984 from a counter in a Toronto department store.
Part of the Estée Lauder Companies since 1994, M·A·C is sold today in over 120 countries around the world.
