And they are inviting others to join in their celebration of older people.
Their annual ‘Go Grey in May’ celebration aims to shine a light on the contribution that older people make in the community.
A highlight of the celebration will be an Art and High Tea at Warrigal’s aged care community in Bundanoon on May 25.
Specialised cards and badges will be available for purchase to send as recognition and a gesture of thanks to a special older person in your life. All proceeds will go directly to supporting services for older people in the Bundanoon community.
Warrigal CEO Mark Sewell said this year’s Go Grey in May event was a great opportunity to not only celebrate the legacy of older people but also fitted with Warrigal’s purpose to “support older people to create inspiring communities”.
“Warrigal is working tirelessly to enable older people to have great lives – older people are our priority and this is a great chance for us to give back, give thanks and celebrate all they have done.”
The Art Exhibition will feature some of Warrigal’s Inspiring People as well as artwork from Warrigal Bundanoon resident Martin Baker - who prides himself on his painting using international water colours and acrylic portraits – along with other local Southern Highlands artists.
Members of the community are invited to attend Art and High Tea at Warrigal Bundanoon, 20 Hill Street Bundanoon this May 25 from 10am.
The art exhibition will continue after the Art and High Tea event until June 2 and will be opened from 9am-5pm weekdays and 11am – 3pm on the weekend.
