The Southern Highlands Evening Branch of CWA NSW will hold a fundraising screening of Their Finest on April 20 at the Empire Cinema.
Set in London in 1940 the film tells the story of a nation in the grips of war. The British ministry turns to propaganda films to boost morale at home. Realising their films could use “a woman’s touch,” the ministry hires Catrin Cole (Gemma Arterton) as a scriptwriter in charge of writing the female dialogue.
The CWA event celebrating the film opening at Empire Cinemas starts at 6pm with entertainment followed by the movie from 6.30pm. The evening will include a lucky door prize, music and refreshments.
Tickets are $25 and are now available at the Empire Cinema, Bowral.
