Sasha decided to shave her long hair for the World’s Greatest Shave in front of her proud family and excited onlookers.
“I’ve been wanting to do this for a few years, I kept seeing the television ads and knew it was something I wanted to do,” she said.
She was nervous but excited for the shave. Her hair was plaited so it could be shaved for a wig for alopecia sufferers.
Hairdresser Ann Rath was charged with the honour of shaving Sasha’s head.
When her hair came off, there were lots of cheers and a few tears from her mother Loretta Covington.
“I’m just very proud, I knew she was ready for this.”
The shave event also featured face painting and a jumping castle. Many dogs also received some colourful dos’, thanks to a touch of spray paint.
Sasha has raised more than $1400 for the Leukaemia Foundation.
