Development Applications for the Hume Coal Project and the Berrima Rail Project have also been submitted to the state government.
Hume Coal will now wait for further direction from the Department of Planning and Environment on the application and exhibition period.
Project Director Greig Duncan said the lodgement would result in the public exhibition of the EIS documents in the near future.
He said this would be the start of an unprecedented information and consultation program in the Southern Highlands.
Hume Coal has proposed an underground mine in the Southern Coalfield which will primarily produce metallurgical (or coking) coal for steel production.
