What was once a quaint cottage will soon become the major police station for the Southern Highlands region.
A new facility was approved for the site in April this year, after being approved by the Joint Regional Planning Panel.
Construction fencing has now been erected around the site, with works expected to begin early next year. The existing house will be demolished, to be replaced by a large multi-level building that will offer local police the latest technology and the increased ability to deal with crime and community safety. Bowral Police Inspector John Klepczarek said once complete, the facility would be near to the most advanced police station in the state. “It will be a far cry from what we have available now,” he said.
