It has been suggested the tree’s tenancy in the front courtyard of the hotel is soon up, but hotel staff aren’t so sure.
Manager Debbie Pearce said she had heard rumours about the tree’s fate, but nothing had been confirmed.
“No one seems to know what’s going on with it,” she said.
“Apparently it may be relocated onto a new round-a-bout.”
Despite being so far from the coast, the palm tree stands proudly out the front of the establishment. The present Bundanoon Hotel was built in 1922.
According to a council spokesperson, Origin Energy representatives raised the issue of the palm tree.
