People wanting to make home improvements will no longer need to stand in line at the local council office to lodge applications, nor will they need to wait on hold for answers over the phone.

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward said the portal is a time saving, cost effective tool for homeowners and builders that can be used anytime and anywhere.

“Now [it] only takes minutes to find information, when previously it could take days,” Mr Ward said.

The lodgement of DAs and complying development will also become an available feature as part of the ongoing roll-out.
