E MMA Alcorn is approaching a very special 20 year anniversary of service in her role with Family and Community Services offices in Bowral.

Since starting her job as a customer service officer in 1995 Emma has provided instrumental administration support to her office in Bowral and has proven to be a much liked hard working employee.
This huge milestone will bring about a big celebration for Emma, her colleagues and her family as Emma has continued to strive and work hard for 20 years despite living with a disability and the limitations it can sometimes present.
Emma is living proof that despite any odds a person with a disability can have a satisfying, dedicated career for the long term.
For Emma coming to work each day and saying "Wow! I have a job to come to and to feel good about working and getting paid".
As a customer service officer Emma takes care of general admin office work including photocopying, filing, scanning, reception and answering the phones.
Emma said one of the highlights of her job was her mailing duties, "because you get out of the office" where she drops off mail, cashes cheques and importantly meets new people.
Finding suitable, enjoyable and fulfilling employment for people of all abilities is the specialty of Essential Employment and Training. Essential consultant Naomi Smith meets with Emma on a weekly basis to ensure she is set up to continue to succeed in her role.
Naomi said meeting with Emma in her workplace and keeping in regular contact gave Emma an additional support and mentor role for her to continue to thrive.
"Emma is very excited about her upcoming anniversary and should be very proud of her longevity of her achievement which is not an easy feat for anyone with or without a disability," she said.
Emma said her colleagues were her main source of enthusiasm for the job
"It's the friendly staff that I love talking to and I have an inspirational manager."
Service and support manager Marie Booler said Emma brought a brightness and enthusiasm to the workplace that was truly unique.
"Emma has made an impact on all of the staff within the Community Service Centre and has been a consistent face of the CSC."
Emma would like to send out a special thank you to Kayle Roi who helped her to secure the job all those years ago. She also credits Essential Employment and Training who she said were brilliant in helping her get the job and most importantly continue to provide ongoing job support to keep it.
