For the first time ever, the University of the Third Age (U3A) state conference and AGM were held in the Southern Highlands.
Members from 40 clubs around the country came to the Highlands for a number of presentations and activities, which included a night at Bradman Museum.
Southern Highlands U3A vice-president and member of the sub-committee that organised the conference Geoff Byrne said it was a huge success.
“The night at Bradman was great with 120 people there,” he said.
“We mixed people up by giving everyone a card to record who they spoke to and a prize for those who spoke to the most from the most groups.
“That fantastic atmosphere then came here this morning (Thursday).”
In total, 176 people attended the conference to hear presenters talk on a range of topics, including how to mix ideas between groups.
U3A provides learning and social opportunities for people who wish to be actively involved.
