As very proud defending champions, the police team batted earlier today and while a good score was recorded, some luck is needed for us to back up last year's resounding win.
The cricket is social and it is fun for all participants, sadly, one of whom I am not.
More importantly, it is an opportunity for members of the community to mingle with the men and women of all emergency services who work in the area and help you and your families from day to day.
This year, the funds raised are donated to The Southern Highlands Youth Hub, a worthwhile cause and an area we all need to support - our youth.
No matter who wins the cricket, (just kidding, our team is keen for back-to-back titles), it is important that we all take the time to help others in our community who are less fortunate than ourselves.
Enjoy the last few days of the school holidays and here is hoping that the mighty Sharks go three in a row.
