I was truly fearful that it would dominate the area and the view of our iconic Mt Gibraltar would be compromised. So far, so good.
Secondly, to Dr John Hewson for his visionary article in Friday's SHN (March 20, 2015). I really hope all voters of our Wingecarribee Shire will read it before voting in the current NSW election.
Thirdly, to all local, traditionally Liberal voters who dare to change their voting pattern.
As I sit here, doing my bit for the Greens at the pre-polling booth, I have just learned of the passing of Malcolm Fraser.
He was a true Statesman, a thinker and a humanitarian with great vision and believed in true Liberal values.
A Labour colleague at the pre-poll commented to me that Dr Hewson's article was "..really good for you Greens".
I was dismayed that even he 'did not get it'.
My response was that it was really good for all humanity.
Government should not be about political colour.
Today, I am witnessing people who are brave enough to admit publically that they, like Malcolm Fraser, have changed their views.
They want their grandchildren to benefit from a government legacy of renewable energy, clean water and sustainable agriculture.
They want a government with vision to transition to alternative energy, phasing out fossil fuels.
They want it now. Later could be too late.
Now will create jobs which everyone wants. We have the knowledge, but we need a government with the belief and will to transition; not one which destroys renewable energy initiatives and subsidises fossil fuel industries.
What has amazed me this week is that so many local voters appear to be unaware of the economic and social problems which arise from the coal and CSG industries.
Although one of our local members has expressed her concerns for our local threat, she is Planning Minister and must be feeling very uncomfortable as she contemplates the plight of those to our north.
Whether climate change is caused by humans or not, or that 97 per cent of climate scientists might be wrong, we have the knowledge now to slow it down for the sake of all life on earth.

The world is changing quickly and Malcom Fraser moved with the times and changed his mind.
He recognised the need for a stable economy and a stable environment.
Please vote thoughtfully and wisely.
