Medium Rare is comprised of four members who formed their band in a music class at Bowral High School and haven't looked back.
Vocalist Natasha Thuma said the band plays a diverse range of genres such as pop, soul, groove, funk and jazz classics.
"We have our own interpretation of these genres and our own style and sound, so we kind of make the songs our own so that the whole set list blends," she said.
Also featuring drummer Antero Wedde, keyboard player and saxophonist Liam Aungle and bass player Salvatore Wedde, Medium Rare is no stranger to success.
"We did a lot of gigs and performances through high school, and we branched out by ourselves in 2013 - that's when we competed in the Southern Highlands band competition Audio Overload."
"We won that event and were given the chance to record and to film a video clip."
In Audio Overload, Medium Rare faced local competition in Chevalier College band Compass.
Rivalry however is not an issue, with Compass member Ricky Prohm joining Medium Rare on stage at the Red Room on Main gig this weekend.
"We have known Ricky for years and always had a high respect for him and his talent."
Natasha said she was happy to come from an area that was so supportive.
"The good thing about the Highlands and being such a close community with so many musicians around here is that everyone does encourage each other and support each other musically."
"We hope everyone will do that this weekend and come and see us at the Red Room."
Singer songwriter Andy Gordon will kick off the show at 7pm this Saturday with Medium Rare set to take the stage around 8.30pm.
Andy is also well-recognised for his work, being grand finalist of the 2013 Australian MusicOz Awards for the folk genre.
Set to bring to the stage sparse alternate folk and country, Andy's performances bring to mind a snapshot of emotion, from happiness, love and joy through to confusion and loss.
"It's about the songs, the words, the songwriting," he said.
Andy Gordon has released a number of songs and an independent solo album.
Tickets are $50 for a cafe style two course menu and a show this Saturday, February 27 with BYO drinks.
Children 12 and under may enter for free.
