TWO men with a wide range of experience are the new deputy general managers of Wingecarribee Shire Council.

Council general manager Ann Prendergast has announced that Barry Paull and Mark Pepping will take up the roles.
"Both myself and the councillors look forward to working with Barry and Mark who bring with them a wealth of experience to the roles," Ms Prendergast said.
Mr Paull began his career in local government in 1981 at the former Parry Shire Council.
In 2002 he relocated to the Southern Highlands where he took on the role of director corporate services at council, a position he held for 10 years.
Over the past three years at Wingecarribee Shire Council, Mr Paull has held the positions of group manager finance and business services and group manager finance and corporate services.
In 2013 he was appointed as acting deputy general manager corporate and strategy and earlier this year acting deputy general manager operations finance and corporate.
Mr Paull will take up the position of deputy general manager operations, finance and risk.
Having previously worked at numerous councils including those at Fairfield, Wollondilly, Blacktown and Strathfield, Mr Pepping began his career at Wingecarribee Shire Council in 2005.
Over the past nine years, he has held the positions of manager strategic planning, manager strategic and community development and group manager strategic and assets.
In 2014 he was appointed acting deputy general manager corporate, strategy and development services.
Mr Pepping will fill the role of deputy general manager corporate, strategy and development services.
"Barry and Mark have amassed an incredible portfolio of experience in the local government sector and here at Wingecarribee Shire Council," Ms Prendergast said.
"With both of them already having established relationships within the shire, I have no doubt they'll hit the ground running.
"Their experience in particular will be invaluable as we prepare our submission and demonstrate our future viability as part of next year's State Government's Fit for the Future reforms.
"Apart from being responsible for ensuring we properly manage our existing public assets and future finances, they will also be accountable for the strategic growth of our shire and ensuring the needs of our residents are balanced in harmony with our unique natural environment."
Ms Prendergast said she had no doubt that both men would continue to be huge assets to the shire and its residents.
Mayor Duncan Gair said council received a strong field of applicants for the roles.
"We received more than 20 applications for the two positions," he said.
"The overall standard of applicants was very high and making our final decision proved very difficult."
The appointment of Mr Paull and Mr Pepping is for an initial tenure of five years and both men will take up their positions effective immediately.
