The two community groups will join forces this Sunday to remove graffiti as part of the annual Graffiti Removal Day, and are calling on the public to join them.
Graffiti Removal Day co-ordinator Raelene Daley said graffiti vandalism was a problem which cost businesses, sporting clubs, households, the NSW Government and councils millions of dollars each year.
"The purpose of Graffiti Removal Day is to highlight the problem of graffiti vandalism and encourage people to get involved in the removal and prevention of graffiti," Ms Daley said.
"Rotary is committed to combating graffiti, which is why we are proud to be working with the Basketball Association, NSW Government and great sponsors such as Dulux, Selleys, Brookfield Johnson Controls and Smart Graffiti for this event."
The event is a great opportunity for individuals, community groups, sporting clubs and businesses to join the fight against graffiti and make a difference to the appearance of the Highlands.
"We would encourage members of the public to support this great event by volunteering to help remove graffiti this Sunday," Ms Daley said.
"People who volunteer to help out on the day will be supplied with cleaning material, paint, safety equipment and training on how to safely remove graffiti.
For people who are unable to attend, they can support the event by promoting the day on Facebook or Twitter or by telling their friends, family and work mates.
The event will be on at Moss Vale Basketball Stadium from 9am to 12pm. To volunteer complete the form on www.graffitiremovalday.org. au or register on the day.
