The brigade requested $3856.60 after the October bushfires last year for specialised radios to be used for rescue and traffic situations.
Councillor Ian Scandrett has been the driving force pushing approval for the funding request since last October.
"I am delighted to see it finally got on the table," Cr Scandrett said.
"The brigade applied for funds for wet weather gear and specialised radio equipment but ended up raising the funds for wet weather gear themselves."
The radio equipment will be used for rescue and traffic situations.
The need for this equipment was made brutally aware to the brigade when they brushed with disaster during the October 2013 bushfires.
Former mayor, Councillor Juliet Arkwright said she was happy to support the recommendation.
"Unfortunately, red tape had delayed the approval process," Cr Arkwright said.
