The late Virginia was recognised as one of Australia's leading contemporary basket makers during her 30-year career.
Ms Kaiser was inspired by the environment and landscape, including within the Highlands.
She will be honoured at Sturt's latest exhibition, The Poetry of Place - The fibre art of Virginia Kaiser (1945-2012), which opens on Sunday.
It will be a very special exhibition for Sturt.
Ms Kaiser taught at the gallery and completed two residencies there.
Head of Sturt Mark Viner said Virginia had a close association with the gallery.
"Virginia was instrumental in revitalising Australian basket weaving over her 30-year career."
Exhibition curator Slavica Zivkovic has negotiated for exclusive access to Virginia's estate.
Along with some of her best works, Ms Kaiser's 's tools and materials will also be on display.
Private collectors and institutions have also loaned pieces for The Poetry of Place.
Major pieces will be on sale, including some of Ms Kaiser's last remaining works.
The Poetry of Place opens on Sunday and will run until September 7.
