THE court has adjourned a case against a Mittagong man charged with numerous sexual and indecent offences allegedly committed against a young girl.

The 70-year-old man was arrested last week by detectives from the Child Abuse Squad.
He was taken to Bowral Police Station where he was charged with:
• Seven counts of aggravated indecent assault;
• One count of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 16 years;
• One count of sexual intercourse with a child between 10-14 years; and,
• One count of attempted sexual intercourse of child between 10-14 years.
In December 2013, detectives from the Child Abuse Squad were made aware of a number of allegations concerning a 70-year-old Mittagong man, who had allegedly indecently and sexually assaulted a young girl on a number of occasions throughout 2010, 2011 and 2012.
During the time of the alleged offences, the girl was aged between 12 and 14 years old and assisted the man with his business, which operated in the Bowral area.
His court case was adjourned and bail refused on two occasions at Goulburn Local Court. First on April 17, then on Wednesday, April 23.
The case has been adjourned until May 14, 2014.
